LEGO has officially announced LEGO 76271 – Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City which will be available for everyone to purchase on April 4, 2024, but Insiders get early access starting April 1, 2024!
This awesome looking 3D LEGO set contains 4210 pieces and allows builders to create an amazing view of Gotham City from Batman: The Animated Series! I am a big fan of the three dimensional art sets like LEGO 21333 (Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night) and LEGO 31208 (Hokusai – The Great Wave) and this new LEGO Batman set seems to be very much in that style. There are a lot of great details across this set, but the first thing that really jumped out for me are the police blimps in the sky with the searchlights which really captures a key element from the intro of the animated series. I also like how the designer has approached the architectural details and style for each building across the skyline in a way that both feels very true to the cartoon and provides a lot of visual interest when looking at the final model. Overall this set looks like it will be not only a lot of fun to build, but should also be an awesome display piece for fans of Batman as well as those who enjoy the three dimensional LEGO Art builds.
It is great to see LEGO trying out different styles of sets in the LEGO Batman theme and I look forward to more 3D art sets like this for other themes in the future.
