Marvel What If? Trailer And New LEGO Sets
Marvel released a new trailer for their upcoming animated What If series and it looks awesome! I continue to be very excited for this new series and I look forward to seeing these alternate worlds/realities where different choices have been made causing different characters to take up the various superhero mantles and alterations to stories for characters we know and love.
As you would expect there are several new LEGO sets on the way based on this new series. Two have been announced so far with more likely on the way.
LEGO 76201 – Captain Carter & The Hydra Stomper features Captain Carter, Steve Rodgers, and Red Skull. This is a relatively small set at 343 pieces, but there is a lot packed into that piece count. I think that the Hydra Stomper mech looks like an interesting design and the coloring of it is unique among recent LEGO mech builds so it should definitely stand out in scenes that you build with it and when you display it on your shelf. The minifigures also look really well done and will likely be a big reason why a lot of people buy these sets as it will be fun to see familiar characters with different looks. This set is currently available for preorder and will be released on August 1, 2021.

LEGO 76194 – Tony Stark’s Sakaarian Iron Man features Tony Stark, Valkyrie, and The Watcher. This set contains 369 pieces and interestingly enough is another mech build. I am glad that this mech (a variation on a Hulkbuster) has a different design from the one found in LEGO 76201 and again they have done with some different color choices here which will really help this mech stand out from other Marvel mech builds that we have in our collections. The minifigure that I’m most looking forward to in this set is The Watcher, but all three look really well done and will be great additions to the collections of Marvel fans! This set will be released on August 1, 2021.
