LEGO IDEAS 21335 – Motorized Lighthouse Coming September 1

LEGO has officially revealed LEGO IDEAS 21335 – Motorized Lighthouse which will be available for everyone starting September 1, 2022. This awesome looking set contains 2065 pieces and comes from the approved LEGO IDEAS project by fan designer Sandro Quattrini.

The set allows you to build a lighthouse that is not only motorized, but also has multiple lights in it! In order to achieve the lighting effect at the top of the lighthouse LEGO has created a brand new element that concentrates light like a real Fresnel lens which is really impressive. Besides the light at the top of the lighthouse there is also a light in the cottage fireplace at the base of this cool structure. The lights coupled with the motor which turns the lighting structure at the top of the lighthouse create a really impressive effect that is going to be an awesome addition to everyone’s LEGO City (I’m already planning where I can fit this build into our layout).

Another nice detail that LEGO has included is the ability to easily access the interior of the lighthouse by removing the outer shell at the back of the tower. At the base of the build LEGO has also included a rocky outcropping which is a great bit of location and detail that really makes the lighthouse layout ready right out of the box.

Overall this looks to be an awesome addition to the LEGO IDEAS line of sets! I’m always impressed at the great variety of sets that come out of the LEGO IDEAS program and this is a great continuation of that tradition. I’m also really happy that LEGO is including the battery box, motor, and lights in the set so you can experience the full glory of this set right out of the box.
