LEGO has officially revealed LEGO IDEAS 21340 – Tales of the Space Age which will be available on May 8, 2023 for everyone, but VIPs get early access starting May 5, 2023. This cool looking set contains 688 pieces and comes from the approved LEGO IDEAS project by fan designer Jan Woźnica.

The set allows you to build an awesome series of four connectible brick-built 3D postcards inspired by 1980s sci-fi myths, movies, books and posters! Once built the postcards can either be displayed together or apart on the wall or a flat surface. I really like the color choice across the four scenes and it is great to see how the fan designer chose to represent things like a space shuttle, moon base, black hole, lunar eclipse, etc. out of LEGO in a very minimalist way.

Overall this looks to be a great addition to the LEGO IDEAS line of sets! I’m always impressed at the great variety of sets that come out of the LEGO IDEAS program and this is a great continuation of that tradition. As I mentioned before this set will be available for everyone starting May 8th, but if you are a LEGO VIP you can get the set in the early access period starting May 5th so it is definitely a good time to become a LEGO VIP if you aren’t already.
