New LEGO Locomotive And Train Car Available From HA Bricks
HA Bricks is currently offering, for preorder, a new LEGO NS 1607 locomotive kit as well as a Fals Kalksteen (self-unloading hopper wagon)! These amazing models can be preordered individually or as a group if you want both.
The NS 1607 model is based on a Dutch Railway (NS) electric locomotive. The completed model contains 1632 LEGO and custom elements. It is worth noting that during the ordering process you are given the option to choose whether you want the motorized version of the kit (BuWizz 3.0 Pro or Powered Up) or not (No Electric). The model is built on a 1:45 scale and as a result needs a larger radius of curve (R104) for a smooth ride. I found it interesting on the HA Bricks product page for this locomotive to learn that the NS 1607 “drove both passenger trains and freight trains and could be seen carrying basically all Dutch rolling stock”. I also thought it was interesting to learn that the NS 1607 “has become particularly known for the fact that it pulled the longest passenger train in the Netherlands during the festivities of the 150 years railway anniversary in the Netherlands”.
The Fals Kalksteen model is based on a self-unloading hopper wagon of the Dutch Railways (NS). Apparently the wagons were used for lime transport which resulted in their naming as “Kalksteen” is Duch for limestone. According to the product page “the wagons were built by Talbot and had a load capacity of 55 tons” and apparently the wagons were not always parked in secure areas which resulted in graffiti artists showing off their artwork on them. The completed model contains 1026 LEGO and custom elements. This model is also built on a 1:45 scale and like the locomotive above needs a larger radius of curve (R104) for a smooth ride.
Overall these LEGO locomotive and train car models look really impressive and have a lot of great details packed into them. I also really like the fact that the Locomotive/Train Car bundle option appears to come with an excellent looking minifigure!
