LEGO EMD SD40T-2 Locomotive Instructions By jepaz Available On Rebrickable

Rebrickable user jepaz has released five new sets of instructions for building different versions of the EMD SD40T-2 Locomotive out of LEGO! All five of the locomotives require roughly 1900 pieces (actual part count varies per locomotive) and the liveries available at the moment are: Kansas City Southern, Union Pacific, Denver & Rio Grande Western, Southern Pacific, and America Latina Logistica. I am a big fan of the work that jepaz does and these look to be great additions to the list of impressive LEGO instruction sets that he has for sale on Rebrickable.

In addition to the excellent coloring on each of the five models there are a lot of great details that stand out for me on these locomotives like the horn and surface texture on the top of the model, the shape and layout of the cab and nose sections of the model, and all of the bars/pipe/tubing/etc that they have included around the sides and front of this locomotive. According to Wikipedia the EMD SD40T-2 Locomotive is a 6-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division. Apparently “312 SD40T-2s were built for North American railroads between April 1974 and July 1980”.

Overall these EMD SD40T-2 Locomotive builds look amazing and I could definitely see these being great additions to a LEGO City layout as well as a LEGO Train collection in general. If you are interested in learning more about this great set of instructions you can follow the links below.
