Special Liberty Bonds Paint Scheme Only Available for July 4th Weekend From Brick Model Railroader
This is the final weekend to preorder the Brick Model Railroader instructions for a limited edition model commemorating the LGMS LEGO Train Layout being displayed at the 2022 NMRA National Train Show. The limited edition model is the St. Louis Refrigerator Car Co. 36ft Beer Car and it looks really amazing! For the final weekend of preorders and to commemorate July 4th, BMR is offering a special paint scheme for builders to pick up as decals or printed bricks.
The product page for this instruction set indicates that “during World War One, many railroads had equipment painted in special schemes promoting causes in support of the American war effort”. Apparently the Saint Louis Refrigerator Car Company did so by painting an undetermined number of cars in a special paint scheme to promote Liberty Bonds. A Liberty Bond was a debt obligation issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury in conjunction with the Federal Reserve. Also known as a Liberty Loan, it was a war bond, issued in four installments in 1917-18 as a means to finance U.S. participation in World War I and the Allied war effort in Europe.
According to the Brick Model Railroader store the preorder window for this model will close at Midnight EST July 4, 2022. Once the preorder window closes the instruction kits will be produced for the orders they receive and will then ship out (expected shipping date will be late July to mid August). In order for this special decal set or printed brick set to be useful you will also need to pick up the premium instruction set as well.
Brick Model Railroader premium instruction sets are always really well done and this new model looks awesome! I highly recommend following the link below to the Brick Model Railroader store and picking up this instruction set as well as the special Liberty Bonds paint scheme while you can.
