New LEGO Mountain 4-8-2 Locomotive Instructions By M.P. Lynes Available On Amazon

M.P. Lynes has released a new set of instructions for building a Mountain 4-8-2 locomotive out of LEGO! This locomotive requires 1606 parts and was designed with only LEGO parts (no custom parts or cutting of pieces required).

The 4-8-2 designation represents the wheel arrangement of four leading wheels, eight powered and coupled driving wheels and two trailing wheels. This type of steam locomotive is commonly known as the Mountain type and you can find out more information about it here. I really appreciate all of the great details that the designer has managed to fit into this excellent model including the cool shape of the tender car, the greeble pieces along the top and sides of the locomotive, and the great coloring of the locomotive and tender. The product description also mentions that this train is designed to function on standard LEGO track despite the fact that it is roughly 24 inches long! It is also worth noting that the locomotive utilizes Power Functions L motors in order to run.

Overall this Mountain 4-8-2 locomotive build looks amazing and I could definitely see this being a great addition to a LEGO City layout as well as a LEGO Train collection in general.
